Ingredients

  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbps Baking powder
  • 1 tbps Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350�F (175�C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish or pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • In another bowl, prepare the topping by mixing together the brown sugar, softened butter, all-purpose flour, and cinnamon (if using) until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the cake batter in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Once cooled slightly, slice the cake into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
