Ingredients

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast 1 packet equivalent
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

Filling

  • 2 cups cherry syrup
  • Glaze
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Heat milk and butter to 110-115°F.
  • Add yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 cup of flour; mix well.
  • Incorporate egg, then gradually add remaining flour.
  • Knead dough for 5-10 minutes until it springs back when pressed.
  • Let dough rise covered for an hour until doubled in size.
  • Roll out dough into a 9x15 rectangle, spread cherry syrup, leaving 1-inch border.
  • Roll up dough into a log, slice into 12 pieces, place in greased pan, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F, bake for 30 minutes until golden brown. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze, pour over cooled rolls. Enjoy!
