– Mixing Bowls – Baking sheet – Pastry Cutter or Forks – Rolling Pin (optional) – Knife or Biscuit Cutter – Brush
– 2 cups of all-purpose flour – 1/4 cup of granulated sugar – 1 tablespoon of baking powder – 1/3 cup of cold unsalted butter cut into small pieces – 1/2 cup of milk – 1 large egg – 1/2 cup of dried fruits
1. Preheat your oven to 400F (200C) and prepare a baking sheet. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. 3. Add cold unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and cut it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. 5. Gradually pour the milk and egg mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until the dough comes together. 6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it’s smooth.
7. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut it into wedges or rounds. 8. Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet. 9. Bake the scones in the preheated oven until golden brown and cooked through.Serve it.
