- 8 ounces bourbon whiskey - 2 ounces simple syrup - 40-50 leaves Fresh mint leaves - Crushed ice
1. Start by adding about 8-10 fresh mint leaves and the simple syrup to a glass or silver julep cup. 2. Gently muddle the mint leaves with the syrup to release their flavor.
3. Fill the glass or cup with crushed ice until its about two-thirds full. 4. Pour the bourbon whiskey over the ice.
5. Stir the mixture gently to combine the flavors. 6. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig for aroma and presentation. 7. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing mint julep.
