Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries preferably ripe and juicy
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice about half a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon honey or to taste, optional
  • 1/4 cup water or fruit juice for extra flavor

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients: fresh blueberries, lemon juice, honey, and water, along with your blender and measuring tools.
  • Pour the blueberries into the blender, making sure they’re ripe and juicy for the best flavor.
  • Add the fresh lemon juice to the blender, which will brighten the sweetness and add a zingy note.
  • Drizzle the honey over the berries and lemon juice, balancing tartness with natural sweetness.
  • Pour in the water, just enough to help blend everything smoothly and achieve that icy, scoopable consistency.
  • Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high for about 30 seconds, until the mixture becomes thick, frosty, and smooth. You should hear a consistent whir and see a vibrant purple color.
  • Check the texture—if it’s too runny, blend a few more seconds or add a handful of frozen berries to thicken it up.
  • Pour the icy slushie into glasses or jars, letting the vibrant purple color shine through.
  • Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint or a few extra blueberries on top for a fresh, decorative touch.
  • Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying that icy, tart burst of summer in every sip.

Notes

For an extra fruity flavor, substitute some of the water with fruit juice. Adjust sweetness with more honey if desired. Best enjoyed immediately for the freshest, icy texture.
