Equipment

  • High Speed Blender
  • Measuring spoons & cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen blueberries preferably organic for best flavor
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed for brightness
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup/agave for vegan option
  • ½ cup cold water or use ice for a thicker slushie
  • pinch salt just a tiny pinch to enhance flavor
  • optional vanilla extract a few drops for depth

Instructions

  • Place the frozen blueberries into your high-speed blender. The berries should be solid and icy, ready to be crushed.
  • Add the lemon juice, honey, and a tiny pinch of salt to the blender. The bright citrus aroma will start to mingle with the berries.
  • Pour in the cold water or toss in a handful of ice, depending on your preferred thickness. This helps achieve that frosty, slushy texture.
  • Secure the lid and blend everything on high speed for about 30 seconds. You’ll hear the berries break down into a vibrant, icy mixture, with a crackling sound as it whirls.
  • Stop and check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add a splash more water and blend briefly. If it’s too thin, toss in a few more ice cubes and pulse until thick and icy.
  • Once the mixture is smooth, taste and adjust the sweetness or acidity—add a little more honey or lemon if desired.
  • Pour the bright blue slushie into glasses. Garnish with a few fresh berries or a lemon wedge for a colorful touch.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the icy, crackling texture at its best. Take a moment to savor that refreshing burst of berry flavor and chill.

Notes

For an extra creamy version, blend in a splash of coconut milk or Greek yogurt. To make ahead, freeze the blended mixture in ice cube trays and blend again when ready to serve.
