Ingredients

For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs potatoes Yukon gold or russet peeled & cubed
  • cream cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional Add-Ins

  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 garlic cloves roasted or minced

Instructions

  • Place the potatoes in a pot, cover with water, and bring them to a steady boil.
  • Drain potatoes thoroughly and return to pot. Mash until the texture starts to look soft.

  • Scoop the potatoes into a warm bowl. A sprinkle of herbs makes them even more inviting.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, try topping with roasted garlic butter.
