Ingredients

  • 3 pounds  king crab legs
  • 1 tbsp seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange the crab legs in a shallow baking pan.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
  • Whisk in seafood seasoning, lemon juice, minced garlic, and olive oil to create a flavorful mixture.
  • Brush the crab legs evenly with the butter mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Pour any remaining butter mixture over the crab legs in the baking pan.
  • Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 35 minutes, or until the crab legs are opaque and flaky.
  • Throughout the baking process, baste the crab legs regularly with the butter mixture from the pan to keep them moist and flavorful.

Notes

  • Never add salt to cooked, boiled, steamed, or baked crab legs since frozen crabs are naturally salty.
  • Trim the king crab legs so they are shorter. They become more manageable in this way. For dinner gatherings, the shorter segments work just as well.
  • Cut up the top portion of the shell with scissors, for the greatest oven-baked flavors. The crab meat can then be roasted in the oven. The butter can also seep into the crab legs because of this.
