Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk whole milk preferred for creaminess
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups ice cubes crushed for finer texture if desired
  • pinch of salt optional, enhances vanilla flavor

Instructions

  • Pour the milk into your blender, creating a smooth, liquid base.
  • Add sugar and vanilla extract to the milk, then blend for a few seconds until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is fragrant.
  • Drop in the ice cubes, filling the blender about two-thirds full for a good icy texture.
  • Secure the lid and blend on high for 30-45 seconds, listening for a frosty, slush-like sound as the mixture becomes thick and smooth.
  • Check the consistency; it should hold a peak when you lift the blender’s lid. If too runny, add more ice and pulse briefly.
  • Pour the icy vanilla mixture into glasses, feeling the cold, creamy texture and seeing the pale, frosty appearance.
  • If desired, add a splash of vanilla or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for extra flavor.
  • Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the icy, vanilla-scented refreshment.

Notes

For a thicker slushie, pre-freeze the milk in a shallow dish for 30 minutes before blending. Adjust sweetness and vanilla to taste. Best enjoyed immediately for maximum frostiness.
