Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 cups soft bread cubes
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place them in a baking dish and bake until fully cooked, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Once done, let them cool a bit, then shred or chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large bowl, combine the soft bread cubes with melted butter, diced onions, diced celery, dried sage, and dried thyme. Toss everything together until well mixed.
  • Add the shredded or chopped chicken to the bread mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring continuously until the mixture is evenly moistened. Adjust the amount of broth as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
  • Transfer the mixture back into the baking dish and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the dressing is cooked through.
