Equipment

  • Highball or Collins glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Citrus Juicer
  • Ice maker or ice tray
  • Small plate (optional)
  • Lime wedge or grapefruit slice for garnish

Ingredients

  • 2 oz 60 ml tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 1/2 oz 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • Grapefruit soda like Squirt or Jarritos, or any other similar soda
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge or grapefruit slice
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass (optional): If you prefer a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the edge of your glass and then dip it into a plate with salt to coat the rim.
  • Add Tequila and Lime Juice: In your prepared glass, add the tequila and lime juice.
  • Add Ice: Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • Top with Grapefruit Soda: Pour in grapefruit soda to fill the glass.
  • Stir and Garnish: Stir gently to combine the ingredients. Garnish with a lime wedge or a slice of grapefruit.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy your Paloma!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the quantities to suit your taste. You can also experiment with different types of tequila or try using freshly squeezed grapefruit juice with a splash of soda water instead of grapefruit soda for a slightly different version of the Paloma.
