Ingredients

  • 2 soft shell crabs, thawed
  • 1 tbsp old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • Vegetable oil
  • Hot sauce

Instructions

  • Pat excess moisture from crabs with paper towel.
  • Stir together flour and Old Bay seasoning in a large shallow bowl.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, and hot sauce in a separate shallow bowl.
  • Heat oil in a frying or saut? pan until shimmering.
  • Coat crab in flour mixture, then dip in egg mixture, and dredge in flour again.
  • Fry crabs in hot oil for 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Set fried crabs on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
