What Happens When You Drop Chicken In Palak Paneer?

Well, I’ve got the answer for you! My Keto Palak Paneer recipe has been a hit with lots of folks, especially those who dig Indian flavors. And guess what? It’s Indian food week here at Headbanger’s Kitchen, so I couldn’t resist whipping up a Saag Chicken recipe for you guys.

Now, why Saag Chicken, you ask? Well, it’s a fantastic way to sneak in those nutritious greens that are essential on a keto diet. Spinach is like a superhero in the veggie world, packed with all sorts of good stuff. Even though Popeye’s spinach-eating antics didn’t sway me as a kid, I’ve grown to love it as an adult.

This recipe is not only tasty but also super convenient for meal prep. Whip up a big batch like this one, and boom! You’ve got yourself 4-5 meals ready to roll. I used nearly a kilo of chicken and half a kilo of spinach to make it hearty and satisfying.

Oh, and if you’re looking to amp up the fat content, just throw in a tablespoon of butter – easy peasy! So, why wait? Give this recipe a shot and let me know what you think. Cheers, and happy cooking!

Overview: How To Make Chicken Saag?

Overview How To Make Chicken Saag

Keto Saag Chicken is a delicious low-carb variation of the traditional Indian dish Palak Paneer. This recipe replaces the paneer with succulent chicken legs, combining the earthy flavors of spinach with a blend of Indian spices. The result is a rich, flavorful dish that is perfect for dinner and sure to satisfy your taste buds.

To prepare this dish, start by marinating the skinless chicken legs in a mixture of yogurt, salt, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Let the chicken marinate for an hour to absorb all the flavors. Meanwhile, cook the spinach in a saucepan with a bit of water until it is fully wilted, then blend it into a smooth puree.

Next, heat ghee in a pan and sauté the onions until they become translucent. Add the ginger and garlic paste, followed by the tomatoes, and cook until everything is well combined. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until it starts to brown. Pour in the spinach puree and let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10-12 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors are well integrated.

Finish the dish by garnishing it with fresh cream, and serve it hot. Keto Saag Chicken is not only a nutritious meal but also a delightful way to enjoy the classic flavors of Indian cuisine with a low-carb twist.

Guide To Store Leftovers

  1. Storage: Allow any remaining chicken saag to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Refrigerate within two hours of cooking to maintain freshness.
  2. Reheating: When ready to enjoy the leftovers, simply reheat individual portions in a microwave-safe dish or on the stovetop until heated through. Adding a splash of water or broth can help prevent the dish from drying out during reheating.
  3. Meal Prep: Consider portioning the leftovers into meal-sized containers for easy grab-and-go lunches or dinners throughout the week. This makes it convenient to stick to your keto diet plan without the hassle of cooking each day.
  4. Variety: Get creative with how you serve your leftover chicken saag. It can be enjoyed on its own, paired with low-carb vegetables, or even wrapped in a low-carb tortilla for a delicious keto-friendly wrap.
  5. Freezing: If you have more leftovers than you can consume within a few days, freeze the chicken saag in portion-sized freezer bags or containers. This allows you to enjoy it at a later date without sacrificing quality. Just remember to label and date your containers for easy identification.
